About CENT&A

In 1995 the leading ear, nose, and throat physicians in Colorado Springs merged to become Colorado Otolaryngology Associates (COA).  At that time, the practice was comprised of six physicians and four locations.  Drs. Hohengarten, Pruitt, and Romett practiced at Carefree and Academy, near Penrose Community Hospital; and Drs. Olson, Ernster, and Knox practiced on Cascade Avenue.  Initially, the practices maintained separate locations; however, in 2000, the practices combined into a single location at the Audubon Medical Campus on Union and Circle.  That same year, Dr. Galloway joined the practice.

In 2004, Dr. Wilcox joined COA, and, in 2006, two of the founding physicians of COA, Drs. Hohengarten and Olson, retired.  Dr. Davis joined COA in 2007, and in 2008, to meet the increasing needs of a growing Colorado Springs, COA opened a second location at the NorthCare facility adjacent to the St. Francis Medical Center at Woodmen and Powers.

In 2011, Colorado Colorado Otolaryngology Associates merged with the Colorado Center for Otolaryngology to form Colorado ENT & Allergy (CENT&A).  With the addition of Drs. Cichon, Smith, and Yohahan, CENT&A now consists of 10 otolaryngologists/head & neck surgeons.  Over 40 staff members ensure the effective operations of  CENTA, and its audiology services are provided by three audiologists and two audiology technicians.

As the premier (and largest) ENT practice in the state of Colorado, CENT&A is dedicated to providing the most exceptional ear, nose, throat, and allergy care to our patients.  To accomplish that goal, CENT&A continuously promotes advancements in clinical practice and the utiliazation of state-of-the-art technology.  CENT&A has been participating in clinical research trials since 1999 and added allergy testing and treatment to its services in 2008.  CENT&A was one of the first ENT practices in the nation to adopt electronic medical record technology, and each of our locations has a miniCAT scan machine.
