Job description, Medical Assistant, Allergy Department. Full Time

Colorado ENT and Allergy is seeking a qualified medical assistant (MA) to join our team in the allergy department. We offer a wide array of benefits which include competitive pay based on experience, health/dental insurance, 401K, and paid time off. The MA will be responsible for performing patient centered care and procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and physician. In addition, the MA will assist with medical procedures as well as perform a broad spectrum of administrative duties. Medical assistant experience preferred but not necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and prepares syringes for injection administration.
  • Provides general care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments, specifically allergy/immunotherapy injections.
  • Maintains immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness.
  • Observes, records and reports patients’ vitals and reactions to treatments.
  • Assesses patient needs and suggests solutions to patient care problems.
  • Maintains accurate patient records.
  • Assures patient stays for required observation time after injection(s).
  • Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations; informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
  • Responsible for reporting improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
  • Responsible for following OSHA regulations.
  • Maintains patient, employee and clinic confidentiality

Requirements:

  • Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- Required (or obtain within 90 days of employment)
  • Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (BLS/CPR)- Required (or willingness to obtain)

We are seeking a dynamic Appointment Scheduler to join our team! This position is primarily responsible for answering incoming calls, tracking of patient referrals, customer service and scheduling appointments for patients.  

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Answers all incoming calls to organization efficiently.
  • Set standard for first impression and the level of service provided by CENT&A.
  • Is responsible for the accurate scheduling of physician appointments.
  • Follows scheduling guidelines for each physician as outlined by Administration.
  • Completes all new patient data entry requirements.
  • Informs and instructs patients on set-up and use of patient portal.
  • Informs patients of company website and all patient documents therein.
  • Instructs patient to bring test results that may have ordered by other physicians that relate to the                               current visit.
  • Reviews appointment reminder reports in the morning and implements patient requests such as cancellations, rescheduling requests.
  • Demonstrate team effort with all personnel by performing the tasks requested timely and with enthusiasm.
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements such as OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, and other requirements mandated.
  • Projects positive image of company always. 

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED, One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in medical office preferred.

We are seeking a dynamic Front Desk Associate to join our team! This position is primarily responsible for greeting patients, check-in/check-out procedures, making patient follow-up appointments and the maintaining of patient demographic and insurance information as well as the handling of patient payments. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Greets all patients.
  • Set standard for first direct impression and level of service provided by CENT&A.
  • Check patients in according to departmental protocol.
  • Update demographic and insurance information.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients and in-office testing as requested by all departments.
  • Responsible for handing out and providing explanation of Prep sheets for various special testing’s available in office.
  • Checks-out patients and posts charges and payments to patient account.
  • Handles patients’ inquiries on all forms, balance inquires and assists patients with electronic and /or paper documents when needed.
  • Balances cash drawer at the end of each day and notifies front desk supervisor of any discrepancies.  Reconciles cash drawer daily by printing reports as directed by supervisor.
  • Complies with all regulatory requirements such as OSHA, HIPAA, Compliance, and other requirements that may be mandated.     

 

Qualifications:  

High School diploma or GED, One-year certificate from college or technical school; or at least 1 year of related experience and/or training. Experience in medical office preferred.
