Barton E. Knox, MD, FACS, FAAOA

Dr. Bart Knox was born and raised in Texas.  He attended TCU on an academic scholarship and graduated summa cum laude.  He then received an academic scholarship to attend medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he graduated with highest honors finishing third in his class of 200 students.  After medical school, he completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio.  Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Knox moved to Colorado Springs and is a founding partner of Colorado ENT & Allergy.

Dr. Knox’s interests include treating tumors of the head and neck, including thyroid surgery.  Over the past several years, he has been active in teaching physicians across the United States on how to perform minimally-invasive nasal and sinus surgeries in the office.  These in-office procedures avoid the need for surgery in the operating room under general anathesia, which allows for a quicker recovery, less cost to both the patient and healthcare system, and a safer outcome.  He has spoken at various state and national meetings.   Recently, he was one of two ENT surgeons in the United States asked to co-author a paper titled, “Awake Rhinology Surgery in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic in Europe” which was published in an international journal and presented at the European Rhinological Society meeting held in Greece in September of 2021.

In his spare time, Dr. Knox enjoys travelling, music, playing golf, skiing, and spending time with his family and friends.
